Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a relevant bachelor's degree from an institution recognized in Kenya.

  • Have at least ten (10) years of experience in marking examinations or possess knowledge and experience in education.

  • Must not have been an employee of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) at any time within the preceding five (5) years before appointment.

  • Qualification and experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) will be an added advantage.

  • Possess high moral character and integrity in accordance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Terms of Service

Under Section 40(c) and (1A) of the Kenya National Examinations Council Act (Cap. 214A), a Member of the National Examinations Appeals Tribunal shall:

  • Serve a three (3) year term.

  • Be eligible for reappointment for one additional three-year term.


Remuneration

Members of the Tribunal shall receive such allowances or other remuneration as the Judicial Service Commission, in consultation with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, may determine.
