About the Role

North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (NRVWWDA) is seeking to recruit qualified, innovative, and results-driven professionals for the position of Engineer NRV 6. The successful candidates will report to the Senior Engineer and support the planning, design, development, and supervision of water and sanitation infrastructure projects within the agency’s area of jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Collecting and analyzing engineering data to support the development of investment proposals for sustainable funding of water and sanitation projects.

  • Supporting the preparation and review of water and sanitation master plans.

  • Drafting tender documents, technical specifications, and project reports.

  • Identifying and proposing new water and sanitation infrastructure projects.

  • Participating in stakeholder consultations, community engagement forums, and project coordination meetings.

  • Conducting project feasibility studies and technical assessments.

  • Designing water supply and sanitation engineering projects in compliance with engineering standards and regulations.

  • Supervising infrastructure projects to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely implementation.

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.

  • Preparing performance management and monitoring reports.

  • Researching emerging technologies and innovations in water engineering and sanitation systems.

  • Supporting compliance with environmental, safety, and engineering regulations.


Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in water engineering, sanitation infrastructure, or related engineering projects.

  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Graduate Engineer.

  • Strong understanding of water supply systems, sanitation infrastructure planning, and project design.

  • Experience in feasibility studies, tender documentation, and technical reporting.

  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and computer applications.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
